Did you see your Birth certificate on the web? It applies to those who were born in the city of Chennai ( earlier called Madras). It was nice to see one's own birth certificate
(BC) on the net and also get a soft copy downloaded free of charge. Not many would have even a copy of their BC and this is one you can get from searching through this website:
One has to enter just two data strings out of the many criteria asked and the gender is compulsory.
Even death certificates of our ancestors could be viewed and downloaded
This is a welcome step by the corporation of chennai and congrats to them for bringing this data online and making it freely accessible!
